Last week we started thinking a new art project with the colleagues of the Poéticas Digitais research group at ECA/USP. I came with idea of using a device like a Geophone to have data from the water flux focusing on thinking and discussing the unseen underground cityscape from wich we depend to survive and have a extremely poor idea about...

ABSTRACT
A particularly simple and mathematically elegant example of chaos in a three-dimensional flow is examined in detail. It has the property of cyclic symmetry with respect to interchange of the three orthogonal axes, a single bifurcation parameter that governs the damping and the attractor dimension over most of the range 2 to 3 (as well as 0 and 1) and whose limiting value b = 0 gives Hamiltonian chaos, three-dimensional deterministic fractional Brownian motion, and an interesting symbolic dynamic.

ABSTRACT
The physical nature of psi phenomena such as telepathy is an important problem in present science of consciousness. Scientists have basically confirmed the existence of telepathy phenomena through many strict experiments. Then can modern science (e.g. quantum theory) provide a scientific explanation for telepathy phenomena? In this paper, we will seek the possible quantum nature of telepathy from both theoretical and experimental aspects, and will present a primary quantum model of telepathy process. It is well known that even though present quantum theory permits the existence of quantum nonlocality, it does forbid the realization of nonlocal communication or quantum superluminal communication (QSC). However, the usual no-go theorems donít consider the possible active role of consciousness during quantum measurement process. In a recent paper (see Found. Phys. Lett, 17(2), 167-182), it has been demonstrated that a proper combination of quantum process and conscious perception will permit the distinguishability of nonorthogonal quantum states, and further result in the realization of QSC or nonlocal communication. This is called the QSC principle. On the basis of the QSC principle, we propose a primary theoretical model of telepathy process. According to the model, the telepathy process mainly includes three phases. The first phase is to form the quantum entanglement state of brains, the second phase is to hold the entanglement state of brains, and the third phase is to collapse the entanglement state of brains. When the entanglement state of brains is collapsed by a certain measurement on one of the subjects, the brain states of both subjects turn to be definite states from entanglement state, and the other subject will perceive the change at a distance according to the QSC principle. When in the entanglement state or superposition state, no definite perception relating to the state exists, whereas when the superposition state collapses into a definite state, a definite perception relating to the collapse state appears. Then the telepathy between the subjects may appear. It should be stressed that, even though the above quantum model may in principle provide a primary scientific explanation of telepathy phenomena, there are still some left technical problems such as the expression of high-level telepathy information etc. Lastly, in order to test the QSC principle and the above quantum model of telepathy, some feasible schemes of quantum perception experiments and perception entanglement experiments are further proposed on the basis of present technology. We urge that such quantum perception experiments need to be conducted as soon as possible. If the experiment results are positive, they will have far-reaching influence on the present science of consciousness and psi research, and will help to bridge the gap between the parapsychology and present science.

Abstract.
Quantumpseudo-telepathyisanintriguingphenomenonwhichre- sults from the application of quantum information theory to communication complexity. To demonstrate this phenomenon researchers in the field of quan- tum communication complexity devised a number of quantum non-locality games. The setting of these games is as follows: the players are separated so that no communication between them is possible and are given a certain computational task. When the players have access to a quantum resource called entanglement, they can accomplish the task: something that is impos- sible in a classical setting. To an observer who is unfamiliar with the laws of quantum mechanics it seems that the players employ some sort of telepathy; that is, they somehow exchange information without sharing a communica- tion channel.
This paper provides a formal framework for specifying, implementing, and analyzing quantum non-locality games.

Hypomnema (Greek. υπομνημα, plural υπομνηματα, hypomnemata), also spelled hupomnema, is a Greek word with several translations into English including a reminder, a note, a public record, a commentary, a draft, a copy, and other variations on those terms.

Michel Foucault uses the word in the sense of "note", but his translators use the word "notebook", which is anachronistic (see codex and wax tablet). Concerning Seneca's discipline of self-knowledge, Foucault writes: "In this period there was a culture of what could be called personal writing: taking notes on the reading, conversations, and reflections that one hears or engages in oneself; keeping kinds of notebooks on important subjects (what the Greeks call 'hupomnemata'), which must be reread from time to time so as to reactualize their contents." In an excerpt from an Interview with Michel Foucault in The Foucault Reader, he says: "As personal as they were, the hypomnemata must nevertheless not be taken for intimate diaries or for those accounts of spiritual experience (temptations, struggles, falls, and victories) which can be found in later Christian literature. [... T]heir objective is not to bring the arcana conscientiae to light, the confession of which—be it oral or written—has a purifying value."

Plato's theory of anamnesis recognized the new status of writing as a device of artificial memory, and he developed the hypomnesic principles for his students to follow in the Academy. The hypomnemata constituted a material memory of things read, heard, or thought, thus offering these as an accumulated treasure for rereading and later meditation. They also formed a raw material for the writing of more systematic treatises in which were given arguments and means by which to struggle against some defect (such as anger, envy, gossip, flattery) or to overcome some difficult circumstance (a mourning, an exile, downfall, disgrace).

Abstract

Michel Foucault tells us about a form of self writing called the hupomnemata in

an essay titled Self Writing in his book Ethics: Subjectivity and Truth. In its simplest

definition, the hupomnemata is a notebook, or journal of sorts for the Ancient Greeks.

However, unlike the intimate, confessional journals later found in Christian literature, the

hupomnemata does not intend “to pursue the unspeakable, nor to reveal the hidden, nor to

say the unsaid, but on the contrary to capture the already said, to collect what one has

managed to hear or read, and for a purpose that is nothing less than the shaping of the

self” (Ethics 210-211). The hupomnemata is not an art object that is distinct and separate

from the writer, “they must form part of ourselves: in short, the soul must make them not

merely its own but itself” (Ethics 210). The creation of the hupomnemata is the creation

of the self, or as Foucault claims, the hupomnemata is a tool for the Greeks concept of

“epimeleia heautou,” or “care of the self.” It is not a detached documentary, the

hupomnemata makes the writer just as surely as the writer makes the hupomnemata. In

this project, I will examine the differences between the hupomnemata, and modern forms

of self writing. I will also examine the relationship between Foucault’s work on the

hupomnemata and his work on the concept of parrhesia, or fearless speech, and his ideas about the nature of authorship. Following this analysis, I will create my own piece of

writing which, in the spirit of the hupomnemata, attempts to enable me to “form an

identity through which a whole spiritual genealogy can be read” (Ethics 214).

We start with the general notions of causality, passivity, losslessness and related concepts for a class of multidimensional systems, in particular with multidimensional causality and passivity, arising from physical considerations. While such definitions are nowhere restricted to linear systems we show that when applied to linear systems with constant parameters (coefficients) they boil down to standard notions of passivity described by positive real functions and matrices, or equivalently, by bounded real functions and matrices in several complex variables.
