Lorenz 84 attractor


The Lorenz Attractor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorenz_attractor) represents the state of a fluid that's heated from beneath and circulates as hot rises and cold sinks. X represents rotation speed (and direction), Y represents one side being hotter than the other (the hotter side pushes upwards), and Z is the total ammount of energy in the system (or some other characteristic which relates to that ¬¬).

Control panel opens on a new window, the three sliders on the top control the system. The interesting one is 'rho', it's the ammount you heat the bottom. For low values, the system tends to balance itself, either spinning left or right. For high values, it never settles, randomly changing its direction.
