Work by south african artist William Kentrigde from 1994. Kentrigde uses charcoal and pastels for his drawings in which he erases and redraws parts to create stop motion style animations.
WIKI: William Kentridge is a South African artist. He was born in Johannesburg in 1955. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and African Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand and then a diploma in Fine Arts from the Johannesburg Art Foundation. At the beginning of the 1980s, he studied mime and theatre at the L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris. He had hoped to become an actor, however: "I was fortunate to discover at a theatre school that I was so bad an actor [... that] I was reduced to an artist, and I made my peace with it."
Between 1975 and 1991, he was acting and directing in Johannesburg's Junction Avenue Theatre Company. In the 1980s, he worked on television films and series as art director. Kentridge is perhaps best known for his animated films. These are constructed by filming a drawing, making erasures and changes, and filming it again. He continues this process meticulously, giving each change to the drawing a quarter of a second to two seconds' screen time. A single drawing will be altered and filmed this way until the end of a scene. These drawings are later displayed along with the films as finished pieces of art.
Design Note: I was thinking about projections in ‘water mirrors’... I was talking in the 'reply emergent mode' with J. on Face Book... around robots, mushrooms and schizophrenia...

Clarissa Ribeiro I read that there is no schizophrenia; and that there is no creativity. and the neuregulin 1 mutation is just imagination; life is your Creation. But... may the neuregulin 1 mutation improve the robot combinatorial potential? and to design our robot we will need to come back to the ars combinatoria realm and design a transcendental -pop-dada-futuristic -construtivistic-emergenticistic –chaotic-randomic-biophotonic -quantic-hypinotic Leibniz Wheel?

text philosophy (jay david bolter)
the project: her project has a lot to concern with the process of constructing texts.
- subjectivity studies with focuses on consciousness and a focus on the intersecting point between theory of quantum coherence and consciusness in human subjects.
Epistemological turn:
- Giuseppe Longo
- technology production and use = knowledge and generation
- bricolage as a methode (Derrida)
- Intuition, feeling and experiment becomes central
- Is science a histo-cultural 'state' that is soon to be over?
the practical part:
- how to make semantic meaning relations by the use of links; levels of recursiveness;
- a setting of transformed space-time relations (in our minds) transforms the way we construct the text
- a transformation of basic assumptions connected to the material world view into a world view of the wave space medium, transforms many relations that we take for granted - or the vocabulary we use to describe them, or the way we relate them to particular contexts.

- the tendency to digitalisation and uploading to the web of contemporary visual culture in general and of some artistic practices in particular. (how immaterial information influences the material)
- Duchamp and the scission of the artwork from a single medium, and subsequently reinforced by the practice of conceptualism.
- Main theoretical references (background)
*Lippard 1973 / The dematerialization of the artistic object
*Benjamin 1935 / The lost of the aura
*Bachtin 1986 / The sel-referenciality of signic systems
- the construction of the artistic reality? semiotic theory is a departure point to her research.

The Net-Museum is a platform of curatorial and artistic research, an itinerant museum, a symposium, an on-line archive that is focused on the research of contemporary visual culture. The Net-Museum aims to develop its practice equally through its on-line presence, through its activities in temporary venues and through its spread collection, which can only be re-constructed on its website. Through the exhibitions and featured artistic projects, both on-line and in temporary occupied spaces, the Museum builds the on-line archive and the Net-Collection. In this way, the reciprocal influence of the virtual and the real are experimented through artistic and curatorial practice.
